FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
- PRIVATE PAY
1) What kind of services does Call for
Care, LLC provide?
We provide a broad range of Homemaker and Personal Care services
in the Consumer’s home; however, we are NOT a nursing service
and will not perform nursing tasks. Services we offer are
specific to each individual’s needs. These services include, but
are not limited to: Bathing, Dressing, Cooking, Light
housekeeping (such as vacuuming, dusting, laundry, dishes,
bathroom, etc), Respite for family members/caregivers, Accompany
to doctor’s appointments, Shopping, Transportation (Must be able
to transfer into a car. Unfortunately we do not have a
wheelchair van at this time) Running errands, Companionship,
etc.
2) To whom do you provide services?
We will provide services to anyone with a disability, illness,
or injury that hinders them from being able to independently
care for themselves.
3) Do you provide 24 hour services?
Call for Care, LLC will provide services any hour of the day,
any day of the week, including weekends and holidays. Even
though we will provide 24 hour services, we are not “on call”
for emergency situations. We do require advanced notice.
4) How much advance notice should I give
if I desire services?
For new clients, we recommend at least one week’s notice. It
takes some time to gather the appropriate information for care,
organize paper work, and schedule staff. For existing clients we
require at least 48 hours notice.
5) How do I go about receiving services
from your company?
It’s easy! First, give us a call to discuss what services you
need. We will then set up a time where we can meet with you to
go over the contract you desire, service plan, and payment
arrangements. Once the paperwork is finished, services can
begin.
6) What contract options do I have?
Call for Care, LLC offers two different contractual agreements.
You can choose the one that best suits your needs. The contract
descriptions are outlined below.
CONTRACT
AGREEMENTS
Nonrecurring
contract: If you opt for a nonrecurring contract, you
choose to receive a specified number of days/hours of service
with no further obligation to receive services from our company.
With this agreement, payment is due BEFORE services start. This
would be a good option for you if: you are trying to decide if
you need the services we provide, family emergencies or
vacations, or temporary disability. If, at the end of the
specified time, you decide you would like to retain our services
on a daily, weekly, or monthly basis then a recurring contract
would be signed. Or you may enter into another nonrecurring
contract agreement. You may enter into as many nonrecurring
contracts as you like.
Recurring contract: Entering into a
recurring contract agreement would be more appropriate if you
need assistance for an unspecified amount of time. Under this
agreement, Call for Care, LLC would provide ongoing services to
you on a daily, weekly, or monthly basis (depending on your
needs) until services are no longer necessary or desired. For
example, we would come to your home and assist you with cleaning
once a week, take you to your doctor appointment once a month,
or assist with bathing three times a week.
7) How do I pay for services and how much
does it cost?
The fees for both contracts are the same; however, the payment
options depend on the contract you choose. If you have a
nonrecurring agreement then payment is due BEFORE services are
rendered. If you choose a recurring agreement, you may pay
weekly, bi-weekly, or monthly. We accept cash, bank check, money
orders, and personal checks. **Please note: If you have a
nonrecurring contract and are paying with a personal check,
services will NOT start until your check has cleared.**
The rate for our
private pay services is $8.50
per half hour
(One Hour Minimum. Holidays rate is $10 per half hour.
Transportation included in rates. )
8) What are the benefits to hiring your

9) What do you mean when you say you do
background checks on all of your employees?
Upon consideration for hire, all potential employees must submit
fingerprints to the Bureau of Criminal Investigation and
Identification in London, Ohio. (If the employee has not lived
in Ohio for the past 5 years, an FBI check is done.) We get the
results of the fingerprints within two business days (it is done
electronically). The results will show us whether or not the
potential employee has been convicted of any crimes and if so,
what kind of crime it was. We will not hire anyone convicted of
a felony or with a past record of theft, abuse, or neglect of
any kind. We also check references, past employers, driver’s
license checks, and online abuse and sexual offender registries,
and employees must pass a drug/alcohol screening.
10) Is your agency insured?
Yes we are. We also require our staff to carry increased
coverage on their auto insurance in the unlikely event of an
accident while transporting a client.
11) What are the conditions under which
services may be terminated?
The contract that you sign will clearly state what conditions
must occur before the contract may be terminated. However, here
is a general list of reasons that services may be terminated:
-
Services may
be terminated if the client: moves; goes to hospital (unless
client wishes to have us come to the hospital to perform
services); becomes eligible to receive care through
insurance and no longer needs our assistance; becomes able
to care for him/herself (after an injury or illness, for
example); can no longer afford care; is unhappy with our
company; state of health becomes to skilled for our company.
-
Services may
also be terminated if Call for Care, LLC: feels that our
staff is put in any danger while providing services; has not
received proper payment; feel that our company can no longer
provide the appropriate level of care for the client.
12) If I need to be hospitalized or am
admitted to a long term care facility, can I still receive
services from your company?
Yes, if you desire to pay for and receive private, supplemental
care while hospitalized or in a nursing home, we will provide
those services no matter where you are. But remember, we do not
provide nursing care.
13) What do you mean by “nursing care”?
Our caregivers are CPR and First Aid certified, but they are not
nurses. They do not have adequate training to perform nursing
tasks such as medication administration, giving injections, or
performing wound care. If you require assistance with nursing
tasks, we can guide you in the right direction to receive
nursing services in your home. Most nursing services are covered
under insurances too.
14) What kind of training do your
caregivers receive?
Our caregivers receive training to perform a wide variety of
personal care and homemaking services. They receive general
personal care training (ex: How to give a bed bath, How to make
an occupied bed, etc) and they will receive specific training to
care for each individual. They receive training upon hire and
continued training through mandatory staff in-services. Our
staff is also trained on fire and tornado safety, and CPR/First
Aid. All employees will need to pass a competency exam prior to
hire and must pass strict skills exam prior to working with any
of our Consumers.
15) If I really like a particular
caregiver, can I hire her privately?
Unfortunately, we do not allow our caregivers to work privately
with a client. Every day that services are rendered, the client
must sign off on the caregiver’s documentation. On that
documentation it states that by signing, you acknowledge two
things: that the employee was, in fact, there that day and
performed all of the duties requested and that if the caregiver
is privately employed by you within 90 days from that date that
you, the client, would pay Call for Care, LLC $800.00 in
liquidated damages. Caregivers are also warned that working
privately for a client is grounds for termination. However, if
you really like a particular caregiver, please let us know. We
will do our best to make sure she/he works with you on a regular
basis.
16) What are my other options for
assistance at home?
There are many different options for receiving assistance at
home. We realize that you would probably prefer to have your
insurance cover the cost of home care services. Call for Care,
LLC does not accept insurance coverage at this time, but we are
willing to help you explore other options should they be
available to you.
